How to overcome Transfer Order Receipt Item Tracking Deletion.?

When handling serial and lot numbers for transfer of items, the items typically have numbers already assigned to them. Therefore, the process typically consists of selecting from existing serial or lot numbers.

Post the transfer order, first ship and then receive, to record that the items are transferred carrying their item tracking entries.

Now after posting the transfer shipment, upon checking the item tracking of the receipt process  we might find that the serial / lot nos that were used in the transfer shipment item tracking have not reflected into the item tracking of the transfer receipt.

In this case in order fix the issue we need to follow the steps that follows..:

  1.  Check the Reservation Table by using the url https://businesscentral.dynamics.com/?table=337, whether there is entry created for the transfer receipt by applying " Source ID " filter with Tranfer Order No as the value to the table, and make sure that the entry is not created.

  2. Now create a "  Configuration Package " with the Reservation Table as the Line table.

  3. Select the  Reservation Table and navigate to  Table -> Fields  and start including the following Fields

    Entry No.
    Positive
    Item No.
    Location Code
    Quantity (Base)
    Reservation Status
    Creation Date
    Source Type
    Source Subtype
    Source ID
    Source Prod. Order Line
    Source Ref. No.
    Expected Receipt Date
    Serial No.
    Created By
    Warranty Date
    Qty. to Handle (Base)
    Lot No.
    Variant Code
    Item Tracking

  4.  Now export the template by clicking  Excel -> Export to Excel
  5.  In the template fill in the details corrctly as follows:

    Field Name
    Field Values
    Entry No.
The Entry No should be an increment of +100 from the Latest Entry No in the Reservation Table.
    Positive
    Positive will always be True

    Item No.

Item No in the Transfer Order
    Location Code
    Receiving Location i.e., Transfer-To Code
    Quantity (Base)
Quantity ( Base ) is Quantity Shipped and Receiving Quantity i.e., Quantity Shipped = Quantity to Receive.

This can change with resepect to Lot No allocation.
    Reservation Status
Reservation Status will be " Surplus ".
    Creation Date
Creation date of the Transfer Order
    Source Type
Table ID of the Transfer Order i.e., " 5741 "
    Source Subtype
    Source Subtype will be  " 1 "
    Source ID
Source Id will be the Transfer Order No
    Source Prod. Order Line
Source Prod. Order Line is the Line No of the Item in the Transfer Order.

    Ex: 10000
    Source Ref. No.
Source Ref. No. can be obtained from the Line No Transfer Order Table i.e., " 5741 " where for a given item if shipped there will be two lines created from which we need use the Line No Column value.
    Expected Receipt Date
Expected Receipt Date will be the Transfer receipt date.
    Serial No.
Serial No of the item if used in item tracking.
    Created By
Created By is the User ID who has created the Tranfer Order

Warranty should be provided if Warranty Date feature is used along with Item Tracking.
    Qty. to Handle (Base)
Quantity to Handle ( Base ) is Quantity Shipped and Receiving Quantity i.e., Quantity Shipped = Quantity to Receive.

This can change with resepect to Lot No allocation.
    Lot No.
Lot No of the item if used in item tracking.
    Variant Code
Variant Code must be provided if the Item has a Variant and the same has been used in Transfer Shipment.
    Item Tracking
Item Tracking will be either " Serial No. or Lot No" based upon the Item Tracking.

  6. After the template is filled with the details as provided above save the template file and import the same into the same configuration Package by selecting the Reservation Table row ->Click Excel -> Import from Excel.

  7. Once the import process is completed Click Functions -> Apply Data.

Now refresh the Reservation table and check whether this entry is imported. Upon confirming navigate to the Transfer Order, select the line item where the tracking for transfer receipt has not reflected and check Item tracking code.

After confirming the Tracking Code i.e., it is as same as the Shipment tracking, Post the Transfer Order.

By Following the above suggested steps we can overcome the Transfer Order Receipt Item Tracking deletion issue.
